Fortnite Grenade Bug Making One Challenge Difficult To Complete

  • A new pair of weekly challenges is currently available for Fortnite on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and iOS. Unfortunately, there also definitely seems to be a newly discovered bug in the experience that presents some difficulties for one of soon's objectives. [Update: Epic has released Fortnite's 5.21 update, with a fix to the lingering Grenade issue.]

Players are reporting on Reddit that damage brought on by Grenades isn't being counted toward the "deal damage using a Clinger, Stink Bomb, or Grenade" challenge. Likewise, players on Epic's forums say they've experienced a comparable issue while using Clinger; based on these users, the experience inconsistently counts the destruction Clingers Buy Fortnite Items toward their progress. This is problematic considering that the challenge showcased can only be completed while using the three specified weapons. With two-thirds of which effectively unusable for this bug, it might be much more difficult to remove the objective. Epic hasn't publicly addressed the situation as of this writing, although studio typically resolves issues with all the game quickly.

This certainly isn't first time problems has arisen in Fortnite that prevented players from completing a weekly challenge. Last week, Epic was required to temporarily disable the shopping cart application and ATK because of Fortnite Items. As a result, players were not able to finish the flaming hoops challenge, which hinged entirely upon leaping with the hoops using either from the vehicles.Fortunately, players have the full season to perform Fortnite's challenges, so there's still plenty of time for getting your Battle Stars. While you lose time waiting for Epic to solve the Grenade issue, you may complete some of recently's other challenges, such as after having a treasure map seen in Snobby Shores.
